Murray Takes Home MCBSA Rookie of the Week

FARMINGTON, Maine — University of Maine at Farmington first-year middle infielder Jackson Murray (Bath, Maine) has been named Maine Collegiate Baseball and Softball Association (MCBSA) Rookie of the Week.

Murray left his mark in the final game of UMF's series against Lesley, going a perfect 5-for-5 at the plate and helping lead the Beavers to the win. The performance tied the single-game program record for hits, making him just the fifth player in Farmington history to accomplish the feat. In addition to his hits, Murray recorded a team-high four runs batted in during the contest. He also scored two runs and added a stolen base.

Murray now has six hits in his first 11 collegiate at-bats, along with four steals and four runs scored.

The Beavers' next game is tomorrow at the University of Southern Maine, with first pitch scheduled for 3:30 p.m.
