Charles Reed ranks as one of the best hitters in the history of UMF baseball. Reed was a .392 lifetime hitter in three seasons and set the season record in 1964 with a .416 batting average. Reed hit .382 in his final spring as a Beaver. Reed recorded 40 hits, drove in 34 runs, crossed home plate 26 times, and stole five bases in 38 career games. He graduated from UMF in 1965.
