David Long graduated from UMF in 1995 with a degree in Psychology and Business.

A standout defender for UMF men’s soccer, Long tallied four goals and one assist for nine points over his career.

Long earned First Team NSCAA/Umbro NAIA All-America and All-New England region honors as a senior. He was a three-time All-Maine Athletic Conference selection, and was twice named to the Maine All-State squad. Long was the team’s captain in both his junior and senior seasons, earning Defensive Player of the Year honors from his teammates as a junior, and the Most Valuable Player award as a senior.

Academically, Long was an NAIA All-America Scholar-Athlete in 1995, and earned the Einar A. Olsen Certificate of Award for proficiency in scholarship and athletics, as the senior male athlete with the highest grade point average.

At the time of his induction, Long was employed as the Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Kinetico Incorporated in Newburg, Ohio.
