Steve Clifford has been working his way through the NBA ranks as a coach since 2000. After assuming assistant coaching roles with the New York Knicks, Houston Rockets, Orlando Magic, and Los Angeles Lakers. Clifford accepted his first NBA head coaching position prior to the 2013-14 season with the Charlotte Hornets.  

He started his career as a college assistant with Saint Anselm, Fairfield University, Boston University, and Siena College before accepting a head coaching job at Adelphi University. 

As a student-athlete, he tallied 250 career points over his four years in Farmington, along with 113 rebounds. Clifford amassed 125 assists in his senior season at UMF, and tallied 260 assists over his final three seasons.

Steve graduated with a degree in Special Education and currently lives in Charlotte, N.C.
