Jared Rivers was a standout basketball player for the Beavers. He was an Honorable Mention All-American in 2000, after a season in which he scored 429 points. Rivers played two seasons for the Beavers, recording 431 points in 1998-99 as a junior. 

He earned both All-Maine and all-conference honors, and finished his career ranked fourth among the program’s leaders in field goal percentage.

Rivers averaged 18.3 points per game, ranking him sixth all-time. Rivers’ shooting ability puts him 13th all-time with a .573 field goal percentage.  Rivers’ leaping and anticipation abilities played a key role in his being ranked eighth on the UMF career blocked shots list, with a total of 57 in his career.  

Jared earned his degree in History and currently serves as the Senior Associate Dean of Admissions at Bates College.
