Hall of Fame
Karen was a transcendent basketball player for the Beavers for four seasons from 2003-2007.
A true winner, Karen graduated from Farmington with a career record of 89-22, having won three North Atlantic Conference championships (2003-04, 2005-06, 2006-07), and competed in the NCAA Division III National Tournament twice. During her senior season, the Beavers achieved the program’s best single season record, finishing the season at 25-4.
For her career, Magnusson totaled 1,235 points, 508 assists, 427 rebounds, and 315 steals. She finished her career 5th on the all-time UMF scoring list and the program leader in assists. Karen was also a three-time NAC 1st Team All-Conference award winner, as well as a three-time NAC All-Tournment Team honoree.
Karen earned a degree in Elementary Education with a concentration in Mathematics from UMF. She is a Physical Education Teacher at Maranacook Middle School as well the head coach of Maranacook’s girls varsity basketball team.
