Roger graduated from UMF's 100th class in 1965.  He played four years of varsity baseball and is considered to be one of the best baseball player to don a UMF uniform.  A slick-fielding second baseman, Roger committed only one error in four years of play.  He hit for a career average of over .300, and did not strike out once in four years.  He and his brother, Charlie, provided a double play combination that has yet to be equaled at UMF.  Roger was a history teacher in Bangor at the time of his induction. He has led Bangor High to four Class A state championships, and is considered one of the finest basketball coaches in the state.
