Robert Bryan Leib came to UMF in 1977. He graduated from West Chester University, where he was an All-American in soccer, with a degree in Health and Physical Education in 1967 and received his Master’s in Education from the University of Pittsburgh in 1968.

During his time at UMF, Leib has served a variety of coaching and teaching roles for more than 30 years. He  has coached men’s soccer, women’s soccer, baseball and softball as well as served as an athletic trainer.

Leib finished his coaching career at UMF in the spring of this season with more than 800 wins. His records were baseball (134-129-1), men’s soccer (260-94-34), women’s soccer (151-63-16) and softball (271-145). He coached both the men’s and women’s soccer teams at the same time for six years.

Feted numerous times as a conference, state and regional coach of the year, Leib directed the 1986 men’s soccer team and 2002 women’s soccer squads to the NAIA National Tournament.

Outside of the university, Leib started and ran summer soccer programs in the Farmington community for 30 years and supervised the fall program for 15 years. He was honored in West Chester with the Gene Davis Memorial Award for his service to developing youth soccer.

Leib resides in Wilton and is now enjoying retirement.
