Brinkman graduated from UMF in 1984 and was a member of the women's basketball team.  She was the school's first woman to score 1,000 points--accomplishing this in just three and one-half years of play. Brinkman still holds many UMF records, including most rebounds in a game (22) and a season (297); she is tied for career rebounds at 875, and has the highest rebound average for a season  (16.5) as well as for a career (14.2).  She was named to the All-Maine MAIA Women's First Team for three years, and to the NAIA All-District Team two years in a row.  Jan is currently a paramedic supervisor with Lifestar Ambulance Service in Farmington.
