University of Maine at Farmington

Darcy graduated from UMF in 1980 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education.  She played field hockey and basketball, and was a member of the 1977-1978 women's basketball state championship team.  Although there were few state and national awards for women athletes during Darcy's college years, she was named UMF's women's basketball Rookie of the Year as a freshman, Most Improved as a sophomore, and MVP during her senior year.  At the time of her induction, Darcy was a special education & rehabilitation services education teacher at Great Salt Bay Elementary School in Damariscotta, Maine where she worked with autistic students.  Among other activities, she coached field hockey and softball at Lincoln Academy.
