Lee was a starting member of the basketball team during his four years at UMF. In his final year, he was chosen MVP, served as captain of the team, averaged 12 points per game and hit on 62.4 percent of his field goal tries--a new UMF record for field goal percentage in a single season. At the time of his induction Lee stood as seventh in UMF all-time field goal percentage.  The “scrappy guard,” was legendary for his ability to “take a charge”– drawing offensive fouls while on defense. He was named the team’s Defensive Player of the Year for three years in a row. Former UMF basketball coach Len MacPhee once said of Lee,  “. . .we haven’t allowed him to shoot with the type of offense we run . . but he’s more than capable.”  Graduating in 1982 with a B.S. in Elementary Education, Lee was a realtor with Tom Fabisak Realty in North Hampton, New Hampshire at the time of his induction.
